When I tell people that I gained a second family in Japan this past summer, I always get weird looks. Unless you experience first hand the love I was shown by the Oee family, you could never understand. Ikumi and I could hardly hold a conversation with each other because we didn’t share a common language, and we didn’t go out everyday to do activities in Hanamaki, but I now realize the card games we played and the Japanese traditions her family shared with me, made me a part of the Oee family. I cried like a little baby for 3 hours on the train ride back to Tokyo; I left my little sister in Japan.
THE POWER OF MAKEUP: since I am lazy when I play around with makeup (I only ever do one eye or one side of the face), I decided to show the difference a little makeup can create. The left picture is about a medium coverage amount of makeup. The right photo is very light coverage. There wasn’t any extreme changes in facial features, I just evened out my skin tone, highlighted, blush, and did eyeshadow. Also, please excuse that awful fever blister. Just a demonstration of how a couple minutes every morning can make a difference in how you look and feel about yourself.
